Inspired by timed-creation projects like NaNoWriMo and Impulse24/7, Momentum120 explores the creation of a brand-new work in a limited amount of time. Dancers are forced to trust in the creative process and work quickly, allowing no time for self-censoring or second-guessing one’s work.

In just 120 minutes, the dancers of Geeksdanz collaborate to put together a new fully-choreographed dance piece. The resulting work is videotaped and posted to our YouTube channel, and once or twice a year at our large fundraiser events we will perform a selection of Momentum120 pieces from the previous year. This is the ONLY chance audience members have to see these pieces live, as their proper existence is online.
